About Environment, Conservation & Climate Change Office

Office Overview

The Environment, Conservation & Climate Change Office, operating under the Provincial Social Services Office, leads Madang Province's efforts to safeguard natural resources and build climate resilience. It develops and updates environmental and conservation policies in alignment with national legislation, guides climate change adaptation and mitigation planning, and oversees ecosystem management across terrestrial and marine habitats. By partnering with communities, local governments, and development agencies, the office promotes sustainable livelihoods, biodiversity protection, and disaster risk reduction through nature-based solutions.
