Governor's Vision for Madang

"As your Governor, I am committed to driving sustainable economic growth, financial inclusion, and infrastructure development that benefits every community across our beautiful Madang Province."

A Message of Hope and Progress

My fellow citizens of Madang Province,

It is with immense gratitude and a deep sense of responsibility that I address you as your Governor. The overwhelming support of 109,888 voters in the 2022 election has humbled me and reinforced my commitment to serve every community across our diverse and beautiful province.

Madang Province stands at a pivotal moment in its development journey. We are blessed with abundant natural resources, a strategic coastal location, and most importantly, resilient and hardworking people. My vision is to harness these strengths to create a province where every citizen has access to opportunities, where our children receive quality education, where our farmers get fair returns for their labor, and where our communities thrive in safety and prosperity.

Our Strategic Priorities

Financial Inclusion: We have signed a landmark Memorandum of Understanding with the Centre for Excellence in Financial Inclusion (CEFI) and the Bank of Papua New Guinea to implement the National Financial Inclusion Strategy 2023–2030. This initiative will bring banking services, financial literacy programs, and SME support to our most remote communities.

Agricultural Transformation: Our K1 million partnership with the Oil Palm Industry Corporation marks the beginning of a new era for our agricultural sector. We are committed to empowering landowners, boosting rural incomes, and aligning with the National Agriculture Sector Plan 2024–2033 to ensure sustainable growth.

Infrastructure Development: From upgrading our provincial roads and wharves to improving public facilities, we are investing in the backbone of our economy. Better infrastructure means improved market access, enhanced service delivery, and ultimately, better lives for our people.

Cross-Sector Collaboration: We believe in the power of partnership. Through coordinated efforts in governance, disaster management, Gender Equality and Social Inclusion (GESI), and village courts, we are building a more resilient and inclusive Madang.

"Together, we will build a Madang where opportunity knows no address, where progress reaches every community, and where our children can dream without limits."

My administration is committed to transparency, accountability, and evidence-based decision making. We will regularly publish performance reports, engage with stakeholders at all levels, and ensure that our development initiatives reflect the true needs and aspirations of our people.

The journey ahead requires our collective effort. I call upon all citizens, community leaders, public servants, and development partners to join hands with us as we work towards realizing the full potential of Madang Province.

Hon. Ramsey Pariwa, MP
